As fuel represents a significant cost component in inland transportation and trucking operations, these fluctuations have resulted in increased operational costs across the region.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure continuity of service and maintain consistent service levels for our customers, APL Logistics will be introducing an <strong>Emergency Fuel Surcharge (EFS)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Emergency Fuel Surcharge (EFS)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The EFS is a <strong>temporary surcharge<\/strong> implemented to address the current volatility in fuel prices.<\/li>\n<li>The surcharge will be <strong>reviewed regularly<\/strong> and adjusted in line with prevailing fuel market conditions.<\/li>\n<li>This measure enables APL Logistics to continue providing <strong>reliable and uninterrupted services<\/strong> during this period of uncertainty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Scope of Application<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The EFS will apply to <strong>transportation and trucking services<\/strong>, including CFS-to-port and inland movements, where applicable.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Surcharge levels will vary by country<\/strong>, reflecting differences in local fuel indices and cost structures.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Country-specific details<\/strong>, including effective dates and surcharge amounts, will be communicated separately via <strong>local advisories<\/strong> from your APL Logistics account team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Billing Transparency<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To ensure clarity and transparency in invoicing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The EFS will be <strong>charged separately<\/strong> from base transportation rates.<\/li>\n<li>It will appear as a <strong>distinct line item<\/strong> on invoices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Our Commitment<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>APL Logistics remains committed to supporting your supply chain requirements and minimizing operational disruptions.
