The Warehouse Group (TWG)<\/a>, New Zealand\u2019s leading general merchandise retailer, and APL Logistics (APLL) officially opened the TWG Shanghai Consolidation Center, marking the start of an enhanced end-to-end partnership designed to improve efficiency, visibility, and sustainability across TWG\u2019s multi\u2011region sourcing network (Asia and EMEA).<\/p>\n

The opening was graced by senior leaders from both APLL and TWG, including The Warehouse Group\u2019s Chief Supply Chain Officer, Lyle Brady, and Head of Supply Planning, Vanesse Strydom, together with other TWG managers and team members attending the event. The new facility features a dedicated Quality Control (QC) Room, enabling real-time product inspections and upstream quality assurance. TWG and APLL teams conduct pre-shipment checks to verify product standards before cargo departs Asia \u2014 reducing rework, minimizing variability, and strengthening delivery predictability.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday is not only about opening a facility; it is about opening a new chapter of trust, collaboration, and shared ambition,\u201d said Shirley Ji, Head of Commercial, North Asia, APL Logistics.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Building on Shirley\u2019s remarks, Lyle Brady highlighted the strengthened partnership and shared ambition behind the new consolidation center.<\/p>\n

Asia Vendor Education Program<\/span><\/h5>\n

Launching on March 1, 2026 across Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Mumbai, the Asia Vendor Education Program aligns suppliers on packaging standards, shipment readiness, and data accuracy. The initiative aims to drive first-time-right bookings, improve cube utilization, and elevate overall supply chain reliability from day one.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are here today because of the strong collaboration and commitment from both teams. Now everything is ready \u2014 let\u2019s move forward toward a successful implementation,\u201d added Lin Lejie, Managing Director, North & Central China, APL Logistics.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Partnership Framework<\/span><\/h5>\n

To guide the multi-year transformation, TWG and APL Logistics have established a shared operating framework focused on five core areas: deepened vendor collaboration, logistics optimization through hub consolidation and smarter routing, end-to-end visibility powered by milestone and predictive tracking, IT innovations such as API\/EDI integration and paperless workflows, and sustainability initiatives including improved container utilization and packaging right-sizing. Together, these pillars form the foundation of a more efficient, transparent, and environmentally responsible supply chain.<\/p>\n

The initiatives launching in March 2026 represent the first phase of a multi-year transformation roadmap.
